There are more than 12 Million units of APIX nodes being delivered to the Automotive industry and deployed in cars on the street. The popular INAP375T and INAP375R transmitter and receiver devices are now available as devices of Inovas “ecoline” product family. The fully compatible devices INAP375TAQ and INAP375RAQ are using copper bonding and a smaller package, offering customers a significant opportunity for system cost reduction and more efficient designs moving forward.

The APIX2 link, developed by INOVA Semiconductors, transmits uncompressed pixel data with a resolution-independent link data rate of up to 3 Gbps over two pairs of shielded twisted pair (STP) copper cable. The INAP375TAQ together with an APIX2 receiver device such as the INAP375RAQ can be used as a digital serial link for display and camera applications.

It provides a DC-balanced, AC coupled low latency, point-to-point link. Its scalable physical layer provides bandwidth of up to 3 Gbps at lowest EMI. The INAP375TAQ/RAQ support popular automotive HD displays up to 720p or 1080i. The device offers a flexible video interface, configurable to handle 1 or 2 independent video streams, with input interfaces such as parallel RGB or openLDI (LVDS) e.g. 2x (4 lanes + clock).

Transmission of 3 Gbps at distances of up to 12m

Software adjustable driver characteristics and configurable operating modes allow the transmission of 3 Gbps at distances of up to 12m. In addition to the video transmission the INAP375TAQ/RAQ provide completely independent full duplex communication channels. Using the internal AShell protocol, data transfers are protected by error detection and retransmission mechanisms.

Offering a Media Independent Interface (MII), the INAP375TAQ/RAQ can be directly connected to an Ethernet Media Access Controller, offering full network capabilities through the APIX link. Additionally, the link is optimized to carry low latency GPIO signals for reset or synchronization purposes. The built-in audio path allows synchronous transmission of up to 4 stereo audio channels, with highly precise clock regeneration at the receiver for high-end rear-seat entertainment.

The INAP375TAQ and INAP375RAQ are available in aQFN package, being fully functional to the INAP375T and INAP375R devices in a 14x14mm 100-Pin LQFP with gold bonding wires. The new TAQ/RAQ versions of the devices are implemented into 9mmx9mm 104-Pin aQFN packages with copper bonding. All devices are available for operational temperature range from – 40 °C to 105 °C and are qualified according to AEC-100.

INOVA reliable transmission of data over large distances

INOVA Semiconductors is an ISO 9001 certified semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Munich, Germany. The company designs, markets and sells its products and technologies directly and through a global network of distributors.

For many years, INOVA Semiconductors has been extremely successful in developing and manufacturing semiconductors for high speed data communication products for Gigabit/s data transfers through copper cables. INOVA Semiconductor’s core competence is the reliable transmission of data over large distances of up to 50m in harsh and interference-prone environments.

Thanks to their high reliability and performance, the APIX™ and APIX2™ product lines have established themselves in digital multimedia and control data transmission, particularly in the areas industrial automation, railway transportation and automotive.
