The electronica Embedded Platforms Conference (eEPC) allows hardware and software developers, system designers, product managers, heads of development, and device and plant manufacturers to exchange specialist knowledge and to have open discussions around the challenges and potential solutions for embedded systems. As a part of electronica, the international conference has long been an important fixture for specialists in the industry to discuss problems, find solutions, and present new developments.

This event offers leading manufacturers and independent experts an excellent opportunity to give their target audience an insight into ecosystems, the variety of solutions on offer, and future perspectives of modern embedded platforms. Focuses of the electronica Embedded Platforms Conference will include the following product categories and applications:

  • Embedded processors, MCUs, multicore, FPGAs, and SoCs
  • Operating systems, tools and software for safety and security
  • Embedded boards and starter kits for fast development times
  • Smart sensors, wireless connectivity, and Internet of Things
  • Low-power design, energy harvesting, and energy efficiency
  • Intelligent edge, machine learning, and artificial intelligence

Although not being explicitly addressed, the subject areas of design to cost, reusability, and open source, as well as reliability and sustainability are always important and continue to grow significance.

Who can be a speaker? What questions should be answered?

Experts from industry and research, embedded specialists from manufacturers and suppliers of modern hardware and software modules, and professionals experienced in embedded systems are invited to submit papers to the electronica Embedded Platforms Conference. The 6th Embedded Platforms Conference is focusing more than ever on the device manufacturers and component suppliers at electronica.

Content of your submission: Your paper should address relevant current and future demands and challenges of embedded solutions. You should communicate practical and easy to understand solution-oriented approaches, principles and platforms that are available now and will also be so in the future. You should answer the following key questions in your paper:

  • How can current and future demands on embedded solutions be met?
  • What basic knowledge is indispensable for developing embedded applications efficiently and in line with the state of the art?
  • What do embedded platforms, components, and tools offer that enables solutions to reach their full potential now and in the future?
  • What could solutions of today and tomorrow achieve if they were to extensively utilize the capabilities of available embedded platforms?

Why not submit papers for the conference?

Do you deal with current and future demands on embedded solutions? Do you know what embedded platforms, components, and tools need to offer to enable solutions to reach their full potential now and in the future? Do you like the idea of inspiring interested participants in your subject area with a paper at the Embedded Platforms Conference? Are you interested in exchanging ideas with other experts? Then register as a speaker via the following link and submit the abstract of your paper here by Friday, May 27, 2022: Call for Paper.

The program committee of the electronica Embedded Platforms Conference is particularly interested in drawing on the expertise of device manufacturers and component suppliers and embedded specialists from industry and research, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of modern hardware and software modules. For all questions about the conference and your topic, please contact the program manager via johann.wiesboeck@vogel.de.

Topics covered at the eEPC Embedded Conference 2022

Key topics for the papers at the 6th Embedded Platforms Conference include hardware platforms for embedded systems (such as microcontrollers, processors, DSPs, FPGAs, and SoCs) as well as hardware components for embedded systems (such as storage, safety and security modules, ICs for wireless technology, IoT, NFC, and RFID, as well as antennas, sensors and MEMS for embedded systems, PCB solutions, and mounting and connection technology).

Experts in the field can also develop contributions around the topic of software and tools for embedded development and optimization (including operating systems and RTOS, starter kits and reference designs, tools for development, debugging and testing, tools for systems engineering and hardware-software co-design, EDA tools: Chip design, PCB design incl. simulation). This year, the focus is also on future topics such as embedded vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
