The results of the Corona home office survey conducted by our editorial staff in fall 2021 are equally interesting for our readers and advertising customers and a surprise for me. Even before Corona, 23.5% of our readers were temporarily working from home, of which only one in seven was working all the time. During lockdown, 49% of readers worked from home on a daily basis. Of these, 23.5% stayed at home the whole time. This means that seven out of eight respondents were regularly or completely in the office even during lockdown.

Between lockdowns, home office presence fell to 37% – with just one in eight staying 100% at home. In the survey period of September and October 2021, the home office quota then fell to 33% – of which only one in eight stayed at home 100%.

In summary: The home office use of ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS readers increased from almost a quarter before Corona to 50% in the lockdown and then fell again to a third. However, very few readers continue to work completely from home.

Reading time per issue increased slightly

For our authors and for me as editor-in-chief and a self-confessed fan of good print publications, this is a reassuring result. Our electronics magazine continues to reach readers in the company and in large numbers. The high average reading time of a good half hour per issue is also very positive. This not only recognizes the work of our editors, but also pleases the advertisers who place their ads in ELEKTRONIKPRAXIS in order to reach as many customers as possible. Many thanks to our loyal readership.

Print lives and reaches you, dear readers - even in Corona times. Our survey clearly confirmed this. If you are interested in the detailed results of our home office study, please send me a short email to johann.wiesboeck@vogel.de with my favorite subject "Print is alive".
